Hi, $3000 for the conversion sounds a bit steep, you should get a good second hand system of flea bay for around $300, fit most of it your self and then take it to the conversion people and they should be able to finish the rest for under $600, so total $900, with your rebate it should cost you hardly anything, I have been running gas for over 15 years and on straight 6's and v8's and have had very litle problems, the new direct injection systems are just as good as running on petrol but do cost more for instlation.

cheers
Graham

GDay Poochi sorry for your loss I lost my mum after a 13 year fight in the end i felt the same shes not suffering anymore but i miss her . anyhoo about the gas setup (im a licensed gas fitter ) the only thing a non lic person can fit without direct supervision from a lic fitter(hahaha that sounds funny ) is the mixer and the inspecting fitter will probably take it off to inspect anyway .the new kit shouldnt cost much more than 2k also it is a national requirement that the vehicle passes a roadworthy inspection after the gas is fitted .hope this helps     Cheers Merlin

Hey Shell,

I've been offline for a while too so saddened to hear your Mum. All my best to you and your brothers.

Without sounding too much like a preacher, you know I am here to talk should you need.

Shell, for you, look at going back home as a great thing. Maybe hit the comedy circuit again and cheer others up as well as yourself.

RE your gas needs, get in touch with Smithy's LPG ( www.smithyslpg.com.au ). They sponsored the conversion on my 1982 charity bash Jeep, fitting it with twin tanks underneath. They also do lots of specialist cars works and old hot rods. I think you can get a quick quote via their website. When they do the conversion, they only needed to certify the gas system they installed and provide a metal plate with date of compliance. They did not need to have a full RWC done. So you'll be safe!!!

RE your beach getaway you're planning (?!), that's why i got my bedford. I was the only one without one last year! Early March sounds great, but please please please NOT the weekends of 17th or 24th March. (Camp Quality training then my 40th!!!)

Speak soon,

Adrian.
