windscreen
« on: October 12, 2012, 05:16:01 PM »
hey anyone.

I was travelling out of Agnes waters today in QLD and have been unfortunate to have a rock hit my windscreen, the real unfortunate part for me is was an original screen and shattered in two a thousand pieces as it isn't a laminated screen I've had to remove and keep driving to the next major town which is Gladstone.

So the question is does anyone know of somewhere in Gladstone or Rockhampton or anywhere near there I can get a screen second hand or brand new (I don't care at this stage). otherwise I'll order one from O'brien on Monday morning costing me a fortune.

thanks heaps, Matty

Over here a new laminated screen is only $250-300 and they are a lot safer and easier to clean up after a break.
There are so many people out there who will tell you that you can't. What you've got to do is turn around and say "watch me"

obrien said they would fit for a bit over 500. my biggest issue is time, they said its in Sydney, it would take 4 days to arrive where I am and could be another week before they can fit it, unfortunately I lost reception on my phone before placing order and they where closed when reception returned.

most car yards have a set price around $250, go to a car yard and offer thm a slab or bottle of bourben, to get it fitted for you. you'll be saving a couple of hundred
make it reliable, or smash it with a big hammer

Are you heading north or south
I have 2 here in gympie (both need a good clean)
I fitted mine.   Took 10 mins and $2 worth of rope
So if you're going south go the gladwrap and you clean we fit $50
If you like it do it, If you like it a lot do it a lot!
