Another one that can't get past 70s cool
« on: August 12, 2010, 08:48:11 PM »
Hi all, Have recently bought a swb cf, I believe it's a '77 model can't be 100% as yet. It's running a 173, trimatic and don't know what diff (not standard). Going for a weekender and to cart bikes to shows and the dragstrip. Always liked the beddies when this came along at the right price, well it would have been rude to say no. As per usual for a newbie, get ready for all the normal questions. Firstly where will I find the number that Vic roads use for a vin/chassis number? I have put both the number starting with GJ575*** and also the "Chassis number" 97370******, into the Vic roads vehicle search and nothing comes up, any help would be great, if nothing else just confirm the year. Looking forward to sharing the van love. Will have pics up soon.
Cheers

if its a 77 the chassis number should be under bonnet top right on firewall.. if its early model it will be in passenger footwell (i looked for this one your 2 hours once:()

other number is only found on compliance plate which comes standard in drivers side footwell.

:o Holy thread revival Batman! Only 2 1/2 years after I started this thread, the bedford is getting some love. After building a turbo'd motorbike I need to transport it to the drags, and bingo! A pic here before I started work on it, this paint job is only a concept idea, will probably go for something much brighter. I'll start a proper build thread in the right bit.
