WTB fibreglass roof for Dormobile
« on: August 29, 2012, 01:16:26 PM »
Hello Bedophiles,

I have a 1977 Dormobile that I am slowly fixing up. It is missing the fibreglass 'pod' that goes above the front cabin - in front of the pop-top unit. I know it doesn't do anything, but the van would look tidier if the pop-top roofline continued all the way to the front.

If no one has one (which I expect will be the case) does anyone (Ben?) make aftermarket / replacement ones?

Thanks for any help!

Mark

I suspect that may be a hard part to find, Mark.
I think, faced with that problem, I would form one in place with wire netting and then fiberglass over it.
Funny old life.

Hi, sorry i couldn't put up a picture of the missing roof bit (because it is missing!!) but I found a picture on this site that has the bit that I seek. Hopefully Ray does not mind me pointing to his car. The piece I am after is in font of of the pop-top (looks like part of the pop-top but it doesn't go up with the top).
Thanks

Mark, you may be able to make one from a piece of LWB roof.
It looks about right.

ouch Ben  :'(

Not a bad idea Jeff. You have got me thinking of alternatives now... maybe I could add a roof bar and mount 5 monster driving lights!!!

Thanks for your help people.
