Axle lengths

OK, they are both the same length, just fitted them back in the diff and I am able to change sides around, in the old days, we used to carry only one spare and even remember changing them once, will post lengths if required.

Are they 825mm from the back of the hub?

I get 834, that is from the (Hub)? part that the suds fit into, photos attached. This is for the 10" drum, 21 spine axle.

is the distance from the end of the splines to the top of the axle different on the pass side eg longer than the drivers side , just something i seem to remember maybe commenting on  when mouse n i tackled my diff in melb.... could be irrelevant   ( or thinking bout it now,could be cos it chewed the end of the splines out when the axle slid out the bearing n diff round that roundabout in eltham         )

No, they are identical no matter where you messure from, bearing / collar etc. Have just put the diff back together and swaped axles around, as I had marked them when I took them out, all fits and works well diff back in mates van today, no problems. Other diffes / 12 bolt etc have different size axles as the diff housing sits off centered if I remember right, but Bedford diff's are centered, this is the easy way to tell if they run different size axles.
