A true CF Bedford day!!!
« on: September 06, 2008, 10:37:20 PM »
It started with an early rise and a text message off to Matty to ask him if it was time to come out and start stripping.....
The Beddy that is  :D

After a quick reply - "Nup, I had a big one last night" I decided to run around a do a few things, put the vacuum pipe back into
the back of the trimatic and off I went. Rain was bucketing down and the wind was howling. Halfway up Parramatta Rd en-route
to a garage that I am renting and the vacuum hose popped out of the trimatic again... Limping along in the dreadful weather with
a klm of Sydney traffic banking behind me - they must have loved it  ;D

Being stuck in first gear for a good five minutes was no fun so over I pull into the next servo, I seek shelter but the ground is a pool of
water and petrol... The rain is so terrential that I have no option for a 'dry spot' and I am forced to lay in the pool and pop the vacuum
hose back in. Boy o boy what a start to the day!

After emptying the contents of the beddy into the garage I head west - bound for Matty AKA the Casual CF-Cutioner. I arrive and in good spirits,
I am happy, my Bedford has been 'singing' (as I call it) the whole way out there... Man it feels good to have my beddy back on the road.
Casually we start loading some parts into my van. A diff, a fibre glass cargo door, A fibre glass roof wing and he kindly provides me with a brass
t-piece for my stray hoses.

Casually Matty says - oh I have some more stuff in here, we venture to the small shed at the rear of the house. Seeking shelter we huddle inside the
1.5 x 1.5 metre 'Bedford Spare Parts' operation. Holy shit Matty - how many CF's have you executed in your time????
We find a swag of parts from window winders to steering racks to windows to windscreens to heater setups to dash's to.....
It was at this point that Matty said "do you want any of this stuff?" I sheepishly replied "YES!"

Matty: Has salvaged, stripped and sent many dieing beddy's to their graves.
Matty: Bedford spare parts inventory, Sydney office.
Matty: Casual as a primary school mufty day.

Casual + Executioner of CF Bedfords = Matty "The Casual CF-Cutioner"

After clearing out the home inventory we head out to his friends farm to inspect the subject, Matty's latest beddy - literally on deaths doorstep...

LET THE STRIPPING BEGIN MY FRIENDS!!!!  ;D

A nice roof console for Matty.

A nice dash for me.

A new 9 in Chev diff for Matty.

A new motor for Matty.

A new gearbox Matty.

Out with the old motor.

New motor onto original cross-member with HQ disc brake setup.

A nice haul of parts....

STRIP BABY STRIP  ;D

THE GRAVEYARD
There's even a motor in there!

And a gearbox...

NOW TO GET THOSE BRAKE PARTS I NEEDED

THE CONDITIONS WERE WET!

THE FINAL FAREWELL - RIP RED BEDDY : (

A bloody awesome day with a very casual very good bloke.
Photo's courtesy of Jd. Parts courtesy of the CF-Cutioner.

All the best with your endevours in QLD Matty! Thanks for a great day champ!

Cuz I leant on that back door and my shoulder went through it!!!! The photo's make red beddy look much better than it was - believe me! The door was seized closed the rust was the worst that I have ever seen.

It was one of the best days I've had in a long time!

The "Frenched aerial in the front guard is that in the shape of a loveheart, if so then I would have to say that you have got a ex- W.A. van there
