Question re mags?
« on: April 07, 2011, 02:45:55 PM »
gday all,

I have a LWB dual wheel beddy. It currently has the standard setup drums. Question is: Will the standard bedford stud pattern  jelly bean mag fit straight on the front end (and leave the back duals as they are)?
Nothing better than camping in the beddy

I think some are 5 stud but use a bigger wheel stud
There are so many people out there who will tell you that you can't. What you've got to do is turn around and say "watch me"

It's a 6 stud. I'm pretty sure you can't just whack on another wheel with the lwb because they're set out further to be in line with the back dual wheels but I'd love to be told otherwise??

Is there any difference between the front of a LWB and a SWB from the stub axles inwards?
I haven't measured but you might be able to put SWB drums or a HQ disc conversion on the front.......

BUT WHY?
you would need two spare, it wouldn't pass roadworthy and it really won't look any better.
Paint the rims black and geet a chrome trim
i took the jellybean mags of my SWB because they are only rated to 500kg and handling improved dramatically

really?
I've only ever had the choice of two size ball joints (lower) and they were for the early or late model Bedford (SWB).
None of the suppliers ever asked if it was a LWB or a SWB.

yes you can do this no worries. swap the whole stub axel assemberly over unless your doing disc brake conversion.

this is correct. youll find the early model ones have a grease nipple and later ones are a larger sealed ball joint. but make no difference if your not replacing ball joints. someone once said holden got bedford to upgrade some parts ready for v8's to be sold in cfs

list of upgrades i know of that would effect a v8 beddy

thicker wishbones
larger lower ball joints
larger stub axels
beefyer steering rubber bush

so if your throwing a v8 in a earlier model beddy id be definatly upgrading wishbones
