Selling My Beddie - For someone who wants a good one! Brisbane.
« on: October 25, 2010, 11:54:35 AM »
Hi all,
I haven't been on BUGA for a while. Sorry guys.
I almost have my beddie finished but I'm going O/S, so reluctantly selling her. I don't have the money any more to put into it. On top of this the head gasket just went. Don't have the cash to get it fixed so selling at reduced price to cover the repair cost. Will try & post post some pics here too but lots more available. Will list on eBay soon. If you want a good van that has had most work done & everything professionall repaired/restored, this one is for you.
Like to take this opportunity to thank you all for the advice, support & tips to get this done. Much appreciated.
Here is the draft add wording:-
Bedford CFS Van for sale.
This is one of the best you will find in Aus – A real head turner. All the hard work has been done. Drives great. Spent a fortune on it already but new business commitments & travelling OS have made me have to part with this great old girl. Some of the features:- 1971 manufacture date.  308 V8 – fully Transport approved, engineered & plated. Dual fuel -Petrol/gas fitted. Auto with B&W shifter. Highway diff. Holden stud pattern. Body has been completely repaired & all rust taken out. Fully professionally painted. Wheel arch flares added & painted. (Over $6k spent doing this).  Bubble windows in rear doors & rear. Chrome wheels with new Yokohama tires. 8” fronts & 10” rear. ($700 on 2 x 265/50R14 alone). Custom dash. CD stereo.  New captain’s chairs with folding armrests fitted front & centre. (4 in total) On swivel bases so they can turn. ($2k spent on these). Rear seats also transport approved (Reg for 5 passengers). Interior has been fully relined & carpeted. New door locks – all keyed to 1 key. Front door central locking. Chrome rear bumper & side steps (removed at present but with sale). Rear storage cupboard with mattress. Can convert to couch. Just had alternator replaced.
Registered till Nov 2010 – Qld rego.
Will sell without safety certificate & rego. Mechanic advises motor has a blown head gasket & this will be expensive for him to repair. Ideal for someone who can do mechanical repairs themselves? Happy to transfer Rego if you get the Roadworthy?
The personalized plates & Navman shown are NOT included with sale.
Work to do – The main thing needing attention is the motor head gasket. It is still running fine but making the noise. All cylinders still firing. Had a replacement fuel tank put in. The fuel filler pipe has come away from tank. Needs tank dropped to fix – easy job just labour intensive. A foam mattress cut to exact size in rear would be advised. Has also had a small scrape on rear corner & crack at wheel arch – both from shopping centre parking. (See pics) My panel beater said he can repair for $200.
Have spent over $20k on the van. Was going to sell her for $10,000 but with the motor repair am dropping to $7500.00. Genuine buyers only please. Welcome to view at Woolloongabba in Brisbane.  Email maymanns@optusnet.com.au for more pics. Phone Nic on 0402202736 for more info.

Just posted Van on eBay now. Happy to email more pics or anything specific you want to see?
Don't email on weekends - so Monday can send anything you need.
Cheers!

Thanks to everyone at BUGA.
My van has now been sold. Going to a good home in Perth WA. Stay tuned as the new owner is going to finish her in the way it deserves.
Cheers!
Nic
