Wanted starter motor suit 350

Hey fellas, my starter needs a new solenoid and the auto shops dont seem to stock them, so unless someone has an old 350 starter kicking about - I am looking for a new starter.

I've had a quick look on ebay and found a few that will do the job, but they're all over east and i want one now.
Does anyone know of any hot rod shops in perth that i can check out?
I've already contacted west coast chev, armadale auto parts, chris mills and a couple of others but they all want 3 times as much as the ones on ebay...

Anyway, if you can think of anywhere let me know

there are 2 types. you got old or new type? i cant remembedr the difference

try ebay there cheap and 90% off  the time you get the right part        Rossie

ben, mine has the paralell bolts, not the staggered bolts
im not sure if you'd call that early or late model, its most likely late model.

Rossie, yeah the ones i were looking at were the high torque gear reduction type, apparently smaller and lighter. But none of that really worries me, i just want reliability. tho if i get one i'll definately get the 3hp.
I just wish they were in WA - i dont think i can bare not driving the van for a week

the different bolt pattern is actually for two diffirent fly wheel sizes ones a 10 inch & the other is 11 inch so make sure you order the right one .if you get stuck i should have a stock one here ok

I've found a bloke over here that has a new starter at a reasonable price(im sure he paid alot more for it) But i'd still be keen to get a solenoid and rebuild this starter as it is good other than the solenoid. So if you have one kicking around put a price tag and a sold sticker on it and i'll grab it sometime in the near future.
With the flywheels you're dead right, it's 153 tooth or 168 tooth, depending on your source the 153 is 10 inch, 11 inch or 12.5 inch, and the 168 tooth is 11 inch, 12 inch or 14 inch  haha the accuracy of the internet is shocking.
Basically what i've found us that the 153 is generally a small block where as 168 is generally a big block, there are exceptions to the rule, but i dont enjoy typing enough to explain in great detail

ive got a 307 sb and a  400 sb they have different starters to each other..

i like the sound of the big heavy original one but man they draw some current! i bought a 750cca battery and it lasted like a year. now i got a 850. see how ong we go this time.
