nah they didnt come with 186's someone said they got denied a roadworthy in NSW cause their van had a 186 in it and they only came with 202's ad 173's. the roadwaorthy man wanted him to go get an engineers! what a joke!!

cheers
ben

G'day

A mate took his HQ Holden one tonner in for a blue slip and they told him he would need an engineers report for it as the 186 wasn't a listed motor for that model. He went and bought a 308 V8 Commodore and swapped the motor over for less than the cost of an engineers report.
And no, it doesn't make sense.
The problem I have is that most of my stories end with... and that is why I am not allowed to go back there!

Hey Blackbedford, thats surprising, I have a 186 red in my van, it was always there from the factory, thats how original it is. Mate I was just checking to see if you have had a chance to take those pics of your ford transit power steering rack for me ? you emailed me a few weeks ago to let me know you would take some for me, probably bad timing, silly season and all.
Regards

bedford crazy, in the holden bedford parts book it says that bedfords were only imported with 202's and 173's.. what makes you think yours came with a 186??

cheers

hey ben, do you have the holden bedford parts book in electronic form? is there somewhere that it can be downloaded?
The haynes book has buga all that relates to my van, but hopefully some of the holden related manual is relevant.

holden bedford parts manual is pretty useless also, its just a parts manual. it just has old part numbers in it that are no longer available. ok ok  some parts are still available. like ball joints and stuff.

mine cost me 50 bucks!!!

i wouldnt bother with it.

I guess all those that dont own a beddy know all. mmmmmm Thats why I like this site, I learn. Great class room for guys like me.
