Borg Worner 5 speed to red 202 and holden diff
« on: August 12, 2009, 09:24:56 PM »
Hi Guys....well I'm new to the site and here is my first question......Has anyone fitted a borg warner 5 speed gearbox to there red 202 motor running a holden diff???? If so can you help me with what is required to do conversion. Currently running a holden 3 speed manual box at the moment. Not sure what the 5 speed is out of as it was thrown in when I bought the beddy van. Anyway cheers in advance for any help given I'm new to the bedford scene but hoping to learn heaps.
Thanks Wayne

which holden diff are you running?

and is it in there now or are you converting it also?

is it a complete holden diff or just centre?

gearbox should be easy or fairly straight forward, probably have to make up some linkages and stuff..

cheers
ben

I think the gearbox was fitted to vk commodore as an option but I'm not to sure,
I did have a vk with a 5 speed and I know it was standard and I think it borg warner.
There is many different versions of the borg warner 5 speed, they are fitted to many types
of vehicles, dellowauto should be able to help www.dellowauto.com.au
I would think you need to correctly ID the gearbox first and go from there.
you may all so want to consider where the shifter will come threw the floor some conversions
have the shifter in line with the back of the seat

Good luck
And you thought owning a bedford was going to be easy.
