CGW (Cut Grind Weld) Yet Another Diff Story.
« on: February 12, 2009, 07:20:14 PM »
And So It begins.......   I thought I had scored, Two Salsbury LSD diffs for the price of one, one buggered one not.  All good so far. Turns out the buggered one with a couple of teeth chipped on the pinion is a 3.55 and that was the ratio i wanted. So i opened up the other one and ye gods its a 4.44  Ah well at least i have all the bits to GCW a wide one. So if any one in NZ wants a 4.44 Salsbury LSD head I have one to trade for a 3.55 unless you have a 3.08.

Tune in next week for the next exciting episode  of CGW.... MWA HAHAHAHA

Bren .... are they hard to get? if you like i could check out how much to get it over the ditch. It will only end up as a door stop or in the scrap bin.... we are getting $200 a tonne for steel.

They are not too hard to get, but they are getting rarer, and they are easy to blow up...... whack it on ebay or trademe, you might get someone looking for it.
I think the 4.44LSD only came out on 6 cyl manual HQ utes.... autos and v8's had 2.78's and 3.08's (although i could be wrong)

Since they are the lowest ratio you can get for a sals diff they are perfect for cheaper end of drag cars...
