1/4 turn fasteners for engine cover

Hi BUGGAS,
I tried to help wendyh the other day as she was looking for the genuine window lock from my old sliders.
In a previous life i sold fasteners. And one style was a 1/4 turn with a male stud /female receptacle. I am looking at getting a set for my stock engine cover. The female receptacle would be located under the cut out of the engine bay and secured with rivets, while the male stud is located on the engine cover itself and held in place with a neoprene washer and circlip. As i mentioned to wendy, these are available in different head styles (wing, low profile, slotted etc) and material (stainless steel, low carbon steel etc) and different diameters, these would suit this application... if anyone has retained the original battery lid the same technology is used. With the raised head option they can be fitted or released with a 1/4 turn and the male stud is always located on the lip of the engine cover.. no more tools or lost bolts. Once i work out the grip range required and they fit tightly. If any ones interested I'll post the info so others can use the same concept.

You can still get the original ones if you want them, you guys have Fortress, MDL or EDL over there ?

I didn't realize these were standard items, from memory my CF 250 has always used a bolt through the engine cover and had captive nuts underneath. I haven't heard of those companies/distributors, I knew of the 1/4 turn products through a company that supplied the Aerospace , Commercial and Automotive industries.
