Hi all, I introduced myself a couple of years ago, bought a ban with no engine and box, today I bought a gearbox !! Yay, W series Toyota, either 56 or 58 not sure how to tell... Soon to buy a blue Holden six to bolt it to, got the bellhousing, what clutch do I need? I'll post pics when I work it out, the van will not beflash to start, just want to get him going... Any information will be a help, thanks, looking for a quick motor rebuild, bolt it together, then rego.....

Step by step! You'll get there!

While on the Toyota gearbox theme, I'm considering the same thing, but really would love to keep the gearshift within the present 'panel' rather than cut the floor for the rear-set Toyota shifter location.

Has anyone managed to do this? Home-made linkages? Remote shifter? Enlighten me!

This van has a pretty good remote shifter setup. Check out the build link for some pics and bit of detail. I can get more info for you if need be:
