tie rod trials

hey groovers  ordered a new tie rod for 1980 cf, TE476R as i thought was the one, its arrived and its to small ???  does not screw onto tie rod, were there any other part no about have scoured the site but can only come up with that part no. cant remember how i procurred them in adelaide ??? any ideas what this part no is one on right is TE476R one on left is the one that came off front end only thing it has written on it is "trans" & F3.. not really sure whats happened but any advice would be awesome  cheers skippy  :'(  :'(
