hello everyone, ive done lots of reading on this site and there seems to be a few diffrent fitments of diffs i havent taken my van for a run yet but it sounds like its gonna scream its tits of over 80kms is there a diff centre swap ? or is it just easier to go for a new diff alltogeather im have been told that a statesman diff is something to look at or a 62 chevy any info on this would be appreciated

hey rushy, are you saying that flash looking van of yours has a screaming motor but a go slow diff? cause it looks like its all been done properly and I'd be suprised somewhat if the diff was original given that its a V8 pushing it along, I would be looking for a bedford diff that has a modified centre, as your wheels have to remain at the same width to fit those luverly rear flares, can you take a pic of the existing and post it that would help in determining what diff you have at the moment, as you may have a 9" or Chev 12 bolt with big wheels filling up the flares, the other thing of course is to consider what stud pattern you have in order to keep your wheels.  Hope its not a screaming diff cause you will have some probs locating a modified beddie diff for a good price

Hey rushy, yeah good thanks, looks like a chev 12 bolt diff, standard width going by the extra deep dish wheels you have, I wouldn't worry too much at this stage untill youve road tested the van, its a good van and I would be overly suprised if the diff wasn't matched to the V8, if it is screaming diff it may be that the centre needs attention, rather than being a high revving go slow beddie original (I don't think that the standard beddie diff would last the distance being pushed around by a v8) I reckon you're on a winner
