I remember when I cranked mine up off the battery and I was testing it for the first time that it was a bit tricky. I thought mine was stuffed too at first. Sorry but I can't remember off the top of my head what the connections were and the motor is stored away in a box right now so I can't grab it and have a play.

No worries Rogue - if you happen to have a middle-of-the-night "gotcha" just write it down for me!!

I'm about to have another crack at it and hope blind luck will work where brainpower ( ??? ) couldn't cut it
It's not how hard you hit it - it's how you hit it hard

Hi All

Firstly a big thank you to Rogue for posting his pics and instructions for the Ford Farmont EB wiper motor conversion. I sourced the same wiper motor yesterday and followed Rogue's fitting instructions and it fitted like a charm. Now all I need to do is figure out how to wire it up. Thought I would resurrect the original thread in the hope that someone out there who has done the conversion managed to work out the wiring. So I've checked out the original Bedford wiring and the colour codes are as follows:
Black wire = earth
Red/green wire = Speed 1
Blue / green = Speed 2
There are some other wires on the switch side that aren't in use on the motor side namely:
Yellow/green which creates a closed circuit with red/green when the switch is in the off position.
Green which creates a closed circuit red/green when the switch is on speed 1.
That is half the puzzle done.

The Ford motor has 5 wires too.

Black = earth
Black/purple = ?
Purple/white = ?
Blue/yellow = ?
White/blue = ?

Does anyone out there have the answer to the second part of the puzzle?
Cheers Gordon
