It's a remote reservoir. A lot of the jap vans have them. I fitted a Hi-ace master cylinder to mine and was going to run the reservoir remotely as my bonnet is sealed shut but I've decided that having no bonnet is a real pain in the arse so that's something else I need to get sorted.
