Cargo door restraint

Hi all,

I'm interested to see what some of you have done to restrain your cargo door. The orignal system was a clip on the passenger door which, when properly aligned, would hold the cargo door open. I have taken mine off.

I don't really like this system, as I rarely need to open the door wide like this. I have heard of gas struts and leather straps (though I haven't seen any CF vans with these).

Anyone have any photos to share, or nifty ideas for preventing the cargo door from whipping a deep scratch into the next car in the parking lot, or (worse) denting your own passenger door?!

Although i haven't done it yet myself, the gas strut has to be the way forward, i will definately be incorporating that into the new van.

Morris Minors have a pivot point mounted on the door jamb, from that there in a short rod with thread on the end that goes into the door. On the threaded end is a rubber stop a big washer and a nut, meaning by using the thread you can adjust how far the door opens

seatbelts, you can use two buckles at set widths ...

That seat belt one was Skip , I think. The rods are a great idea, a lot of the old cars had them, even the old FJ Holden. I gotta do something here as well. Cos the old door always swings around and ads more carictor to the van

  it was indeed,  simple to fit n effective in non dentry of passenger door      tho it was blackbeddy that came up with the seat buckle included, which gave option to unclasp the buckle that allows the door to be fully opened,mine is restricted to a 45 degree swing....
