GPS

I am looking at purchasing a GPS, never owned, rented or desired one but now looking at doing a bit of touring round Oz and apparently they are quite handy (sorta like how mum used to keep a box of tissues in the glove box), any tips?

Ed I've got 2, 1 in car unit with a 7" screen it also has am/fm, tv, dvd, etc which I bought from ebay. It runs Route 66 software, I think it may be a pirate copy. It works well easy to read. @ unit is in my Nokia 6110 Navigator, it also runs Route 66 software. This works well also but does take upto 5 minutes to lock on to satellites.

i bought a LAZER, Powered by smart to go from a guy off ebay that i bought the home security cameras and other electrical gear.
best dam thing i ever did, if i buy sonething off ebay and have 2 pick up, i just prog the address in and it takes me there, Yeah!!!!
thats easy as, just dont listen 2 them when they say make a u turn, lol. '
u might get booked, and u cant say well the GPS  told me 2, haha.
when i used to just navigate from a street directory id get lost, have 2 stop every now n then 2 look further ahead, i cant remember 2 many directions at once, alsimers settin in i think,
but yes Eddy they are priceless, i bought mine for $245 and bought another straight away for my sister for her B/day. ,
they warn of speed cams 2, just having one makes me more cautious of my speed witch is a good thing.
i love mine now its like auto pilot, lol. might change the SWB 2 an auto, make it really easy . im over changing gears, ...

a mate at work tells me that he can get one for $198 which has a reverse camera, but alas he couldn't tell me the brand name, I've heard that the tomtoms are good and can be updated off the computa free of charge, I like the 7" screen though, only concern is keeping the goodies out of view from those dastardly bustuds that steal from cars when they see something on show so would have to be portable
