4x4 Van Wanted
« on: September 24, 2008, 11:19:06 AM »
Hi all,
This is actually Nic's Dad, Glenn.
BUGA is such a great site & wish something like this was around when I was building my vans in the early eighties?
Anyway, around that time there were a number of large vans converted to 4 x 4's, cruising the streets of AUS.
I know there was a Ford E or F series van, A Chev (I think imported by US servicemen), a Ford Transit & a couple of Beddies. I think these may have been done around the time of the Coca-Cola promotional vans?
Just wondering if any members would know what happened to them or even have one? Love to restore on of these & use it.
Had a month in a Chev converted one on holidays in the US about 15 years ago & it was great.
Well thanks for the opportunity here & keep up the great work.
Some of the leads & help members have given to us 'Newbies' has been invaluable. Nic's van is still at the panel beaters. We're heading down there soon to check on progress & hopefully post some pics.
Have a great day.
Cheers! Glenn

Came accross some posters in an auto tranny shop last break, after a bit a dribble to the "guys" found out it was an old Sunnrunners VC member who used to build overlanders and still does, Mick from Mole Craft , (Craig, Insert photo of Black Pig here pls) I think he has build some monster trucks recently, one a VZ ute and his latest... a crewman , painted as HRT, red/white Lions head etc . he had a pritty sik Black 4x4 Beddie, one I would like to replicate, had a good van run to Lancelin with these two Beddie's and they weren't for the faint hearted, tried to keep up in my van but didn't have a chance......Craig more photo's pls!!, dan.
Can I go play now...?
