Broken down
« on: December 28, 2012, 03:11:27 PM »
Hey Guys

Was driving my red 202 engine CF today - noticed what seemed to be a flat spot or a misfire a few times? Happened a few more times - then just broke down doing 100km.

Stopped on the side of the road an hour later it kicked back over and "just" made it home with the same flat spot / misfire feeling.

Any ideas? Would love some help before I take it to a mechanic

Cheers

sounds like the problem i had last year. new electronic ignition distributer and coil fixed it, no dramas since, :)

put a new set of points in it, or
if you can afford it change to electronic distributer and coil to suit,

if that link dosent work put this item number 261104227237    in an ebay search.

hope this helps fix your van, let us know how you go.?

If you have a standard points setup it could also be a faulty condenser. Its worth replacing if you are going to do the points anyway.

i would think its just be bad connections.. check earths. check wire running from chassis to the engine.

and all wires connected with the ignition system.
