Marky,
The only last option would be to contact Spectrum Rubber. Whilst they don't list the bushes for Bedford they do have other bushes for holdens and they might have some which might suit.
Worth a try, the worst they can say is NO.

Hey Marky,

I had the same problem years ago when I replaced all the bushes in my LWB. Rear suspension bushes were not available in either rubber (original) or aftermarket nolethane.
I ended up getting a set custom made in nolathane by a suspension crowd here in Auckland. Didn't cost much and they're easy to make if you have the gear.
Talk to some of your suspension people over there or a machine shop should be able at turn them up for you from nolethane rod.

Garry.

ah Thanks Gary...finally some one with a LWB....hmmm

so it seems..i have tried all available stockists..here in oz..whiteline..superpro...nolathane...

Getting some turned up was the last option....

Can u tell me what the bush you made up looked like?...

the reason i had to replace them...was the previous owner obviously had the same prob n made some nylon tubes as a substitute for bushes..

they were flogged n oval ..where they are once round...

is it a tapered bush that i make up.?flat centre...lil tapered edge? (looks like a toilet roll)

..or the type like a control arm  bush.... with a lip...  2 bushes n a tube? (Cotton reel type)

i have nothing to reference to...

many thanks

Marky..

A photo and measurements of an ORIGINAL would really help, has anyone got one they can take a pic of?
Then it's as simple as getting some Nolathane and giving it and the specs to someone with a lathe...

I'd like to let you know what they're like but it must have been about 15 years ago now and the memory isn't that hot so not sure. I replaced all three spring bushes, both sides and I have a feeling at least one of them was two piece, ie a bush pushed in from both sides of the spring. Not sure though so I'll crawl under the van at the weekend and see if I can jog my memory. They did have a metal sleeve through the middle where the bolt runs. My rear springs are the single leef version so any dimensions may differ from the multi leef ones.

Nylon isn't the material to use so no wonder they are now oval and shagged. It works fine as a rotary bush, like a bearing, but not under the compression loading that a suspension bush suffers.

Cheers,
Garry.

OK. the answer lies in the Nolothane website.  They have bush dimensions in them.  Now if my memory is not too bad I ended up using a EA EB??? falcon lower inner bush kit in my CFL.  They fitted the rear of the rear and the front of the rear springs.  All round.  I can't remember the number offhand but will look it up tonight for you.  In the front I had to "polish" the flange on the back of the Nolothane bush with a grinder to make it a tiny bit thinner.  I also "polished" the centre sleeve a bit too.  I don't know how long they are going to last but they are in and they have tightened up the springs a treat.  When they stuff up (long time of short time) a replacement set is readily available and cheap.

I'll suss the number out tonight for you.

Cheers

Neil
