Gidday Jon, I don't know what year your van is, mine is a 76 and has 2 flasher cans, 1 for the indicators and 1 for the hazzards. A couple of things to try is unplug the flasher can and make a wire to join both wires of the flasher can together then try the indicators, this will cause the indicators to come on and not flash. This will tell you if the switch and bulbs and bulb earths are all ok. If this test works and the indicators light then the fault lies with the flasher. If not then check for power in the green wire to the flasher can, if this is ok next check the indicator stalk for continuity between the light green with a brown stripe wire and the green red stripe wire when you turn one way and thelight green brown stripe and green white stripe when you turn the other way. Other things to look at are the bulb earth connections, if these are bad or weak then this can cause them to flash fast. All of this is assuming you have factory wiring loom that has not been messed with or colours changed. and also assumes you have 2 pin flasher cans. And is how my 76 factory loom was connected. Remember to look for the second flasher always catches a few out.

Oh and one other thing to check is your hazzard switch, mine used to give me trouble when I switched it off, it wouldn't reconnect the indicators.

Hope this helps
cheers Jeff

I could have read this before... it would have saved me some time....
The Hazard switch is broken at the back and bad contact didn't let the indicators work... that and I also changed the relay (can as you guys call it).

So is that true that a Mini switch will fit? In that case it will be much easier to use find one!  :D  :D
