The weather
« on: June 30, 2010, 11:16:11 PM »
Now I’m not one to complain the weather all though it was bloody freezing the last few days
but the van is one to complain,

After has a small rest of about 5 weeks you would think the van would want to bounce into life and
drive happily down the road but NO as I was running late for work at 7am in the morning in near minus
temperatures the faithful battery of more then 5 years decides to call it quits. These things happens I
guess so out rolls the motor bike and off to work I go (not happy and frozen).

Next day Freezing cold again, like I said, I'm not one to complain, but the van after getting a new
you bute heavy duty, deep cycle, very heavy, Marine battery still didn’t want a bar of the cold weather.
After attempting to hose the ice off the windows which I think the tap water made only made the Ice
thicker, I fired her into life, well some sought of life It really didn’t sound to healthy. I was then presented with a
new problem. The old 202 needs pretty thick oil in her to keep the engine rattles some what quite but I have a feeling
that thick oil in cold would of looked more like grease. Hence no oil pressure over 1000 revs. After 10 minutes,
sought of coughing and splattering (note to self, fix the choke), we managed to regain oil pressure. Then all I
had to do was chip the ice of the screen and off to work we went, late again but I didn't have to ride the
bike today.

Now lets see what dramas the sub zero temp hold for me tomorrow.

And you thought owning a bedford was going to be easy.

I am on a pushbike at the moment.  Neil has my van in his shed.  It is damn cold riding home at 9.30pm on a bike and hard work for a fat lazy ba$tard like me.
