LWB Bedford wanted
« on: May 07, 2010, 02:42:42 PM »
Been lurking on here for a while... I keep finding vans on ebay that are close to what i want... but they aren't bedfords. And i know i will feel that that stab of disapointment whenever i drive past a beddy on the road  ::)
Thought i would finally post something... watching ebay, gumtree, carsales isn't working, running out of patience

I intend to live in my van for chunks of time so I would like a LWB with gutters. I intend sticking a bullbar, roofracks, spotties and solar panels on her.
I don't mind getting rid of some rust. I don't mind sticking a new engine in. I have a bit of time now while I have a house to do some fiddly work. I have a shed, welder, power and water. Not much money though! When my house sells I will have no shed, welder, power or water to fix her with, but can afford to do things like stick in a new motor and solar panels. For now I will spend my time in a war on rust, and decking out the camper area as I want it.

There are, of course, little ideal things I would like (lots of windows, sliding drivers door + barn doors and side rear door, LPG, bigger wheels, single rear wheels, tinted windows, kickass sound system), but can work up to most of these things. I have even brought the captains swivel chair to go in the passenger side already!

I am budgeting anywhere from a rusted $700 van I was looking at in melbs, to about $4000 I guess? Depending on condition and how many of the things from the 'ideal list' are included

I'm up in Cairns... can transport and have quotes from melbs already for another van I was looking at, but it all has to figure into the costs. I am also heading down to brissy soon, so maybe could drive back from there on temporary plates.

So if anyone knows of a LWB that is avaliable please let me know... she will go to a very good home and see most of the country... even daydreamed of doing the phuket to europe drive in her  :D

Cheers,
Maddie

By the way... delrazor, congratulations... I was calling that guy all day to tell him to send it up, didn't answer his phone. Beautiful van... does anyone have another one of these hidden away?  :)

Thanks Ben... all the people I have spoken too about buying a van so far have been men... I was just making assumptions.
At the moment, i am so eager to get my hands on one that I am willing to take just about anything. Luckily I have good friends who talk sense into me whenever I take them the pics of the beaten up wrecks i find  ;D
