Any locksmith can hand cut a key for you, the last one I had made(3years ago) cost $40

hey broags dont be fooled  beddies are EXXY!!! be prepared to be paying at least a few grand more to get it to where you want it. parts are rare and unless your lucky a van for 2 to 3 grand will need lots of little bits to get to where u want it.  i bought mine for 2200 and have spent over 10000  all up since then...  dont ask me where all the money went! thats just my experience, u may have a different one. know any beddy wreckers near you? good luck mate, westy

man , i hate that
Timed out while the photo was uploading.....

Only three things make up most of the value of a standard beddy (or cost when you are trying to get it on the road !)

- Rust
- The front end
- the diff
A good s/h holden six is cheap but expensive to have replaced

the first beddy had one (almost)
the second seems to have two

Rebuilding the front end is my favourite way of getting to know a bedford,
rust is my least favourite.

pick your favourite and be much more fussy on the other two.

The Dog and Lemon Guide 2004 had a page on them.
If it isis too small maybe a moderator can let me know how to post it clearer, maybe with a thumbnail so it doesn't hang up anyone on dial-up???

just remember that the less money u want to pay the bigger shitbox u might get.
id rather pay good money for a better van.
there,s a guy in sydney with an orig virtually rust free SWB van .its unreg n very straight, best ive seen for a long time for the money.
it has rear windows down both sides though.
he wants about $2,000 last i heard. , his name is peter decon, lives in engadine nsw. pm me if u want his number.

Yeah im starting to think it may not be a good idea untill i have some more moola... especially after reading that guide posted above.

As much as i love beddys ,Maybe i should start with something simple like a purvis eureka :P which at least is built on a vw bug so i could do most of the work on that...

Thanks for all the help, much contemplating to do

I've always found that buying the bedford is only the beginning, but they are great vans ;)
