Cresta crown and pinion on trade me
« on: June 11, 2009, 05:43:13 PM »
Looking to improve you diff ratio, this cresta crown wheel and pinion fits in to the Bedford diff housing.

Could be a good buy for someone here.

G'day

I was told that the Cresta centre only fits the early CFS diff.
Anyone know any different?
The problem I have is that most of my stories end with... and that is why I am not allowed to go back there!

I think its the Vauxall Viva that fits the odd one

Correct me if I'm wrong as I lost interest in the standard diff a long time ago but I believe one was a Salisbury diff and the other a banjo style. One of them you could remove the diff head and replace the crown and pinion without too much drama whereas I think the other required a complete stripdown and it turned into a major nightmare requiring jigs etc to set up properly.

Although I have the later facelift model I had to replace my diff for an earlier model to get the Cresta crown and pinion upgrade. Hopefully before the end of the year it will no longer matter and I'll have the Jag fittted.

There's definitely 2 different types. The later model one also has larger hubs.
