Speedo Cable & Diff needed
« on: May 28, 2009, 12:18:01 PM »
Hi There Y'all,

Yes the time has come, i was waiting, for my speedo cable to actually go bye bye. Had a massive kink in it and was wearing down for ages. So, I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me out? Or any advice would be great for an aftermarket one? Excuse my ignorance in this but I don't know where to start..

Running a red 202 with trimatic auto....

Also chasing a h'way diff (sorry Eddy Sailsbury's too narrow for the rear flares) or simialr diff. i have heard a diff from a ford AU ute does the trick - has anyone had experience here?

Thanks for your attention!

Sorry don't no what cable I am running but do no the cog rear on the box/cable is white. Speedo is Bedford, so guess you  only have 2 things it can be edfrod or Holden, would go with Bedford myself.

I'm after a speedo cable inner as well, it's just squared at both ends so am just going to get one made up.

A ford 9in or chev 10 or 12 bolt diff come in various ratios and can be wide enough - they come in many lengths
There are so many people out there who will tell you that you can't. What you've got to do is turn around and say "watch me"

This mob on ebay make custom cable! tell them what gearbox you need to connect to and what type of speedo and they will make one up to any length you like!! Thats how I got one to suit my dash/gearbox set up!Costs about  $80.00 or less plus postage!

I'm quite lucky with that stuff. I've got an engineering outfit that specialises in that sort of thing about 10mins drive away. They made the speedo and transmission cable up for my last conversion.
