Drivers door was moving all over the place. Got some replacement hinges (Thanks, Ben!) Bit of a clean and paint, removing a broken bolt and chasing up the threads, and the hinges were ready to install.A bit more work when one bolt took out the thread on the captive nut (lucky I had some helicoils around) and another ripped out of the bodywork. Anyway, here's the before and after hinges.

Anyone got a set of front door hinges? Rebuilding them looks a LOT of work

Picked my van up from the mechanics this morning. Nothing major, just service, tuneup and replace a noisy, leaky rear axle bearing and seal. Now much quieter, and the rear brakes work better minus diff oil Driving on the M7 100km/hr, smooth as. Canned heat "On the road again" comes on the radio. Cars going past, little kids noses pressed against the window to see the van. And people wonder what I see in the Bedford

Just got the rego renewal for the Bedford and noticed it's registered as a 2 seater It has 5 seats, but the back ones may have been put in any time. They are a passenger side 2 seat bench and base bolted to the floor behind the drivers seat. There are seatbelts in all 5 positions. Now, the back seats may not be kosher, but I thought all beddies came with three seats in the front. I called the RTA and they said it was originally registered as a 2 seater, in 1980 and that they have no data sheets for the CF. I never noticed before as they only recently seem to have put the seating on the rego certificate. They told me I can go to a blue slip mechanic and get the records altered. has anyone else been through this?
