Well Well Well I see that bedford owners have sewing circles as well or this the mothers club ? .
Lets clear up a few facts shall we
What i paid for it is nobody's concern, however i am happy to tell you
I bought the Van off ebay from a guy in Taralgon about 12mths ago for $2000
And YES Ben i am selling it for a reserve of $3400 a total of $1400 more than what i paid for it and if you don't like the reserve don't buy it, its simple .
Why am i selling it ?
I bought it for a purpose and now that has changed, my wife is not comfortable towing with the Bedford so we have decided to sell it so someone else can have the pleasure of owning a classic van.
Why the higher reserve you might ask ? this is why....
I sold a Short wheel base Bedford two years ago that i bought for $800 got it back on the road and sold it for $1800 that had a holden six in it and had alot of rust issues. The mechanicals were good and i made sure it was 100% when i sold it, the guy who purchased it from me got a very good van for the money.
This Van body wise is fantastic compared to my old van, the rust is minimal and can be fixed very simply. The mechanicals in this van are very good, the engine is strong and the transmission shifts well and the diff isn't whiny. I think it may have a wheel cylinder out in the rear but that's about all. Of course it is a old van so there may be a few little bits and pieces required for RWC . Overall this van is in good condition and worth the money I'm asking, i think that i purchased it very well and the previous owner sold it too cheap but that's my good fortune.
As you all know its very hard to buy a Bedford Van with a previously engineered and registered V8 hence the price.
If you want to know whats wrong with it rather than chase up previous owners i suggest you do one of two things
1. ASK me i owe the VAN my number is on the listing
2. Come and have a look for yourself
I am happy to let you look at it, drive it ( you take all risk as it not currently Registered or insured) and inspect it in anyway. You can come by yourself or the lot of you can come over i'm not fussed.
This van has had work done it by the previous owner but what vehicle of 30 years of age hasn't, i don't think you can say they are all f%#$ed
Doofhard i take it you are the guy who offered me $2k for it, I thank you for your offer but i will decline.
