Hi drifter,. I am talking about the REAR brakes,. Not the front. You would still be able to redrill the hq drum to suit Bedford stud pattern.

Hi Wendy,.
Sorry can't get there to help, fair sort of a round trip from Qld,, but I am looking for a grille,. As long as the top section is reasonable, doesn't matter what the lower sections are like rusty damaged, could you keep me in mind please. 5

Hi drifter,. If your trusty mechanical Wizz decides to go with Holden bits I can give you the mods needed. They are simple and easy to do.

Hi drifter,. Wendy is having a working bee this weekend, you might be able to get what you want from one of the beddies they are wrecking. If not another possability which I did years ago was using Holden bits. Hk backing plate and hq drum and all the internals, if you have hq disc's pattern on the front you can redrill the the axle to suit hq pattern or if you are still running beddie drums on the front redrill the drum to suit beddie pattern. Just a thought and holden bits are sometimes easier to get than beddie bits.

Hi Ian,. Yes had the 253 and the hq brakes with beddie booster and hq master cyl. Now have upgraded to all vn motor gear box and all wiring the whole lot so have vn disc's on the front and hx one tonner diff widened and vn disc on the diff. Vn booster and master cyl, they work ok but they do seem to be a bit low, ,have bleed them a couple of times but no different. On commodore site vn had crap brakes. So now that everything is working properly I am taking it all apart and rebuilding it and am going to up grade the brakes to vy disc's twin pot calipre's and maybe the master cyl. Have to check the m/cyl bore to see if and how to fit it to the vn booster. Brakes should be better then. Another month and the hz panel Van will be on the road, then the fun starts.

Hi Phill,
I used all the vn loom wiring made it easy for all the switches and instruments to match in, cluster just plugs in. Had to extend some wires and shorten others but everything works. Having said that I like and used the vs dash and cluster as well as the steering column,. Vs also plugs straight in to the same 3 plugs of vn BUT THE WIRING IS DIFFERENT. There are 3 or 4 earth and power wires that are different and the cluster will start to smoke,. 😖 Yes found that out first hand, fortunately not to mutch damage 😀 only have to work out the headlight and wiper wires to get everything working correctly. The wiper plug fits the beddie wipers and it works on slow/fast/ intermittent. Keep up the good work so far. Julian 10

Hi Phill,
Had a look at you post, it's coming along nicely,. Not much longer now ? Still got the top coat for the hz panel Van to finish then it's the Bedford, don't know how many times it's been pushed back. Can you tell me how much did you machine off the front of the vn hub, ( where the wheel sits ), and why? Is it so that the wheel fits better. Julian |
