Ok so looks like reconditioning the booster is no problem, dropped it off and was finished that day. This is a good reference for brake part numbers which I have used a bit, nothing for boosters but has everything else. Not sure if I have posted it before but will do again. http://www.atap.com.au/documents/HYD08.pdf

Cheers for the advice. Vacuum hose and connections are all in good condition. Have a good brake place which have helped me out in the past and will visit when have the time, but when I call them said may run into problems with reconditioning the old booster so would be good to know any other options for just the booster.

It's leaking air, was hissing air when ever applying the brakes and would stop if I would put my foot hard down. Now it is making the hissing sound when the brakes are not applied as well. Brakes still feel the same but it is making my revs go high and inconsistent with the leaking vacuum.

Drums all round. Just looking for a straight swap without too much moding

Hi, can anybody help?
My booster has started to leak quite badly, and think is is time for a change over or a recondition.
Have standard bedford late model master which has been resleeved and works great so don't want to change that, just need a new booster.
Does the LJ torana booster fit Bedford master? Any other options?
Been searching the forum for info but can only find stuff for changing booster and master.
Cheers

found that cutting the rubber a bit longer and testing the fit before i glued the ends together, as it shrinks a bit and also when it ages. especially the key rubber, i added a inch or so and squeezed it in and now you can not even tell where the seam is.

you can get front window doors rubbers from this guy http://www.scottsoldautorubber.com.au/BEDFORD%201977%20CFL%20VAN.htm , they are not cheap (not to bad if you just get the bit you need) and not exactly the same as the old ones but worked well for me. rare spares videos on installation into old holdens are helpful. can try matching some thing up at clark rubber but i did not have much luck, they will give you small off cuts to test for free.

are you talking about the window seals that have a key rubber insert that hold the window in?? if so certain clark rubbers have them in stock, i needed to go to three different ones before i got them. watch some youtube videos on how install them as can be a bit tricky. made a insert tool out of a wiper blade steel and a file handle which worked perfect for the key rubber.

had a look at this machine in person yesterday, wow even more impressive than i thought. this frankenstein has had some serious upgrades, and the workmanship looks tops. cheers garry for the tow bar and letting us see the van, was an awesome day except got a flat on the beach driving home and had to change it in the rain... also had some fun out running the waves at the point here is a photo of someone who has gone even more nuts on the 4x4, pity its not a beddy.
