Hi all, I introduced myself a couple of years ago, bought a ban with no engine and box, today I bought a gearbox !! Yay, W series Toyota, either 56 or 58 not sure how to tell... Soon to buy a blue Holden six to bolt it to, got the bellhousing, what clutch do I need? I'll post pics when I work it out, the van will not beflash to start, just want to get him going... Any information will be a help, thanks, looking for a quick motor rebuild, bolt it together, then rego.....

HaHaHa....Hotrod...

more like being skint and to a budget....lol.

thing is i spend most of my hard earned traveling back to Scotland to visit... but next time i go i`ll have a running and registered CF in the garage..

i have to finish my 65cc race engined moped first, lol.

good thing about that is a new cylinder head is only $30...

thanks again for your hilarity, lol....

Thanks,

trust me this will be "to a budget", lol and a minimal one at that....  i know i`ll have to shell out a "few" grand on parts but He`ll be rough and ready...
the body is pretty straight and i`ll make sure it`s well finished but it`ll still be a bit of a beater....

We`ll see, lol.

good to know there is a bit of support out there anyway,

                                                             Cheers . M .

Hi Folks, Been waiting 30yrs for my CF to turn up and it did, WooHoo !!!

I`m a Coachbuilder from Edinburgh, been in Aus for 12 yrs now with frequent visits home, in fact we (the family) just returned from a Christmas and New Year trip to Scotland and a few nights in London... all a bit hectic...

I did plan to fill my cases with CF parts but was so busy celebrating.... i forgot, lol... also most places were closed for the holidays...

Back to my Van, it`s a 1977 SWB with perfect roof gutters... being a coachbuilder i won`t buy rusty vehicles.... this one is very nearly mint, the van is in primer and has been stripped of all fittings eg handles, lights, windows etc. there are two or three small rust patches to cut out and weld but nothing in the grand scheme of things... all handles, lights, grille, dash etc is with the vehicle and original. i dont want to restore the van as i do that every day at work and i don`t want to do a custom build, i just want a running, solid reliable van, i will do a few mods but nothing too rad.

i only just got Him.... yes it`s a He and never a "Beddy" (sorry) always just a CF.... he was dropped off in the middle of Dec and i really want to get things started soon.....

things i need to get him going :  Engine.... set up for Holden motor so it looks like i`ll go for a 186/202 with 5spd Celica box.... not had a look yet but are they out there?
Body.... full rubber kit, seen the threads but any up to date ones ? i think Spectrum Rubber may be the go ?
weld and prep areas, organise paint and give it a hit.... easy...

Wheels.... He came with a set of HQ Racing Mags with Brigestone rubber in good nick 225/15/60 i think..

well thats a bit of a run down on what i have to do any help in finding Motor and box would be great but hopefully i can find something locally... and cheap... will keep yo up to date with what goes on with Vincent, hopefully soon....

                                         Cheers All, Scottish Mark :-)
