yer that was my problem got an unknown 202 red that i was told was all good so put it in without pulling it down to check, was in to much of a hurry to get it going. On the plus side though everything that breaks on the van is something new i learn to fix, soon ill be a beddy expert haha

thanks for the input guys. Going with the 202 seems like the way to go, need at the HP i can get to carry the van up those hills.

So the current engine in my van (202) is giving me more dramas and ive had the offer from the old man tohelp me rebuild an engine for it. Ive got the choice between the original 173 that came with it including some nice big holes in the tops of 2 of the pistons or another red 202 (thanks mty). Just wondering if any of you guys have any experience with the old 173 compared to the 202 and any advice on which way would be best to go? was also maybe thinking of even putting the 173 head on the 202, im open to suggestions. (v8 is down the track but not an option right now).

Got my water leak all sorted last night so ill be heading to kandos in the beddy this weekend. Anyone for here whos going please come and introduce urself, it shouldnt be to hard to spot me in my giant white van. always great to meet fellow bedheads.

thanks marty was good to meet a fellow BUGA. Yer someone before me has really looked after my van, thanks for the good fedback, as i said ive been going into this bedford adventure prity much blind so good to meet someone with the experience you have and to actually get to see another beddy upclose for the first time! these vans are getting bloody rare its a shame that most ppl in my gen dont even know about them.

the is no major rust anywhere im the doors. other then a couple of dent and some slight surface rust which would easily be removed during prep they are in great condition.

I've been clearing out some stuff (missus' orders) so I have a couple of my Bedford spares that came with my van to get rid of. If no one wants them they will just be getting scrapped so free to anyone who comes and gets them (unless of course you feel generous and want to make a donation to the Bedford fund). Located in Seven Hills, SYD. Will probably also have a few other things to add to the post as I go through the boxes.  good set of rear doors all mechanisms work. no key which is why i assume the latch is there.(was like that when i got them). has some minor dints in the bottom corner of the left door not to major  set of original bonnet hinges  as far as i know original tow bar set up (my vans one is not original so may be wrong).
