Introduce Yourself / Bedford CA Dormobile Debonair Camper Owner!
« on: February 25, 2013, 01:58:01 PM »
Hello,  We have been watching this group while searching for a Bedford, and have finally found ours - a Bedford CA Dormobile Debonair 1968 Camper.

It needs a complete renovation, but all looks structurally sound, so shouldn't be too hard, we hope...

The main body of these have been replaced with a fibreglass camper body, with the only steel parts being the front nose (excluding the mudguards), and the chassis, so rust is not really a big problem.  It has been fitted with a Holden red motor and auto gearbox, but will hopefully change it to a smaller size motor, as the red motor takes up over half the foot room in the front.  Any suggestions on what motors would fit better would be very much appreciated.

Contact from anyone with CA's would be great thanks.

Peter and Linda

Campers / Re: Bedford Debonair Campervan

Update - we have purchased the Bedford CA Debonair - just fell in love with it and don't care if it can't tow a van.  Does anyone else out there own one of these or have any information about restoring a Bedford CA?  Would appreciate any contact and info.  Thanks.

Campers / Bedford Debonair Campervan

Hi, We have been looking for a good LWB CF Bedford (pref in Qld), but we have just been offered a Bedford CA Debonair Campervan, and love to look of them, BUT would much prefer if it was a CF in the same thing with the Debonair camper on it - do they ever come up for sale here, or are they only in the UK?  Are they rare here?  Otherwise, does anyone know anything about the CA ones - would they legally tow a 14' caravan?  Any information would be helpful.

Thanks.  Peter.
