Wanted / Re: Brake Reservoir - Cap
« on: January 29, 2009, 11:34:47 AM »
just looked at my master cyl cap, big hey.

most brake places (especially the older ones) have good stock ad have something to fit. the older places usually owner operator seem to have a better knowledge and can tell what the seals are out of without seeing the complete master cyl.

surely another model of car has used the same cap, alot of cars used to have interchangable caps prob cost cutting. but personally i dont know who.

I bought my beddie as i was starting to build a house, holds full sheets of plaster in the rear for wet weather (in a shorty)
heavy duty leaves in the rear for weight)

tows my heavy duty tandem trailer like a freight train. and doubles as a fun unit to piss off other van drivers and people who think their  cars are the fastes thing on four wheels.

what else can you ask for???

yeah i wasnt heading down the path of  removing the english out, just where some of the ideas and or parts may have originated from.

and i/we might learn something from the responses we get

also there is nothing quite like a good debate

sorry guys don't reckon it ever was has been or could be a ca bedford!
To long, to round at the front around windscreen, windscreen is rounded, wrong body line, no pug nose between those 58 plymouth fury headlights etc etc
Looks more early european??

not trying to be smart but england is a part of great britan, this is a apart of europe, just not a part of the mainland of europe...

I hope this doesn't start one big BUGA of a debate.

also in another topic the p76 was mentioned. the engine was formerly a buick motor.

maybe this was another option for the english, cheaper parts and so from america and turned into a bedford which when it came to australia was gm based running gear???
maybe coincidence or maybe the ties go way back??

fun fun

Cheers
Ben

Maintenance / Re: what do people do for preventative maintanence
« on: January 08, 2009, 09:57:42 AM »
all of that sounds good, except the speedo cable, whats it matter if your speedo is more that 40kms out at 110 lol.

i found the gps is the best guide unless the van is set up correctly.

on another note while i think about it, if someone has messed with the wiring in your van
(or if you have) its worthwile checking to make sure the earth and pos are in the correct positions as this seems to affect the gps chargers so badly that they cease to work
also not good for phone chargers but they dont seem so sensitive.

just a tip, my brother went through 2 chargers before bringing the car in so i could have a look. still got warranty tho  8)
