Old Jeff Dellow used to say the mitsubishi express van cables worked for them, not sure but I looked on ebay and it looks to be the right thing. Here is the link:https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/CLUTCH-CABLE-YAZUKA-F65005/283660478283?fits=Model%3AExpress%7CMake%3AMitsubishi&hash=item420b7b674b:g:wi4AAOSwM0Vdu28~

I have worked on many cfs over the years and have yet to find one that did not have the lower ball joints welded in. Would love to find somewhere that has the new rubber boots in stock though

Ebay is always a good start but I have found it is amazing what engineers will let you get away with, I have changed Cf back from a Ford windsor v8 motor mount to a holden straight 6 with just a couple of bits of flat steel and 4x10mm bolts, best bet pester your repco for a book on motor mounts and you are sure to find some very near matches. A conversion can save big $ in the future

Miscellaneous Technical / Re: radiator alternatives?
« on: February 22, 2014, 09:05:09 PM »
I have installed a holden 6cyl rodeo 2core aluminium in mine, made a couple of brackets and it can now be easily replaced in less than 10min. It takes up all the space from the bottom scoop to the top of the grille. Easy to fill with fluid access too.

Nice look. I too have a scoop under the bullbar, and 2 craig davies, mine are larger fans as I run a holden rodeo 6cyl radiator 2 core. The radiator uses all available room and fits in beautifully with the addition of a couple of brackets top and bottom, beaut thing is , is that I can remove the radiator in a 5 min. New ones are about 300 bucks and easily available, being aluminium and plastic they are heaps lighter too. I have a heater core from a car that I may install on the side or underneath to use if I do some heavy towing or hill climbs but at this stage I am happy with the cooling capacity and have done a few long treks with the temp gauge sitting happy :D

CF Bedford Chat / Fuel consumption for a 292 chev
« on: May 19, 2013, 06:00:58 PM »
Anybody got any idea how many kms to the liter you get with a 292 chev ? I found an article that gave an optimistic estimate of 3.4km /liter. That seems way thirsty. My 186 does between 5.5 to 8 km /L.
Also does it make any difference to the load carrying capacity of the heavy duty cf  ute front end (Like the cfs) if you replace the truck drums with the hq conversion (it does not reduce the size of the stub axle) ?

Driveline / Re: Finding bedford brakes
« on: May 09, 2013, 01:22:35 PM »
Just spoke to the local brake place, they need to have the old ones to bond new linings to, 4 day turn around, let them know it the drums have been machined so they bond the right thickness linings.

I bought new ones about 3 years ago from the brake place down the road, you have to give them your old ones as a swap and let them know if you need them oversize to allow for machining. They re use the ones you give them for the next pair. I used central coast brake and clutch NSW They are in Gosford.
