I can confirm that the VOCA do cater for Bedford owners too. I have joined with my CF Van and have just received heritage plates. Yes, a RWC was required. Sarah Clark is the Victorian secretary and is extremely helpful. I have not yet been to a meeting. Cheers, rubber

I just replaced the original stalk on my CF1 with the 13H7779 mentioned above. Horn on the end, high beam etc. It works well. Except the loud-ish 'cancel' clicks happen continuously throughout the turn. The auto-elec reckons this will eventually break off the diecast pieces eventually rendering the cancel mechanism inoperative.

Now ya talkin, ethyl! That sounds like some thinking outside the (gear) box. What engine have you bolted it to? What does the shifter look like. Any chance of a picture? : ) Cheers, rubber

Hi MaTTe, Yes, it's the red 202. I haven't fiddled with the speedo cable or nylon gear for a while now. I will have a look and report back on the position of the retainer.
Meanwhile I have found a free smartphone app (there are many) which shows my speed and even totals my trip distances. I'm sure that even when I get the speedo working again, it's going to be inaccurate anyway!

Thanks Beerbeddy, that's some food for thought. If it is like stirring porridge, why would anyone do this conversion? Does it give you longer legs? (Clearly, I'll need longer arms! - ) Cheers, rubber

Has anyone been to Flexible Drive Agencies for a new speedo cable?

Dear all,
Could someone who has had some experience with the conversion of the standard 3-speed gearbox to the Celica 5-speed, care to make a comment about the procedure? What's involved, where to look for the right gearbox, adapters required, and is it worth it?
Perhaps there is already a thread about this, but I couldn't find it.
Cheers, rubber

Hi all,
Someone mentioned that Spectrum Rubber are the suppliers of Rarespares' rubber. So I contacted them to inquire about costs. Their rubber from Spectrum is more expensive than Rarespares. Not sure how this can be. Are we sure they are the same rubber?
For example, Rarespares list price for 'barn door kit rear' is $106.95. The 6.5m required from Spectrum is $131.75
Cheers, rubber
