For Sale / My 3 Axle 1975 Bedford Deluxe has sadly got to go
« on: June 03, 2015, 02:30:36 PM »
Hi Guys haven't been on here in ages as life has taken over.
You may remember my massive Bedford motorhome rebuild from a few years back
however, over the last 4 years sitting in my Driveway. its a bit worse for wear.
I WAS planning on starting over again with a full rebuild and do it properly this time but as the usual story goes.
Have a family now and run a business and no spare time for car projects.

Heres the honest truth.

Shes not in a great way. Rainforest conditions are not kind to cars.
Rats have eaten the wiring
Rainforest conditions have opened new rust holes.
I've started gutting the inside as it mostly rotted out being wood.

Highlights.
Its a rare 3 axle 1975 Deluxe .
I still have the Deluxe badges
The trimatic gearbox was rebuilt with new case just before it was last driven (i know why did i rebuild a trimatic)
The 186 was rebuilt (still needs lead additive) and should kick over as it still has oil. but the wiring is all chunded by rats.
Has a 350 Holley
The 2 x 100l stainless water tanks are still in the back.

I have a heap of parts including the old carbie. bull bar, etc.

But basically this is a wreck and complete rebuild from scratch kinda deal.

And i'm really sorry to the Bedford community to have let this happen.  :'(

$$$ WILL TAKE ANY OFFER
, just want to see it restored to the beast it once was.
Can either be a motor home or a flat bed truck.
Feel free to come and check it out.

Needs towing from Mt Glorious , 45mins northwest of Brisbane.
26 Attunga Lane, Mt Glorious.

Bloddy hell Damien I feel Im being watched what the hell were you smoking when you thought up that paint job It looks wild
Cheers yeah the eye thing is my art style. and my mate Roms did a co-spray jobie on it.

and yeah it is a lazy axle just wasn't sure if it was a standard thing or not. this is the first vehicle ive had an incredible amount to do with.

I used to see that van every day parked in a driveway in Ringwood.
and yep.. thats where I got it from. It needed a lot more work than I first expected but I guess I should have expected it considering the age.

I had just about everything in the book go wrong with it. so at least i know it back the front now and every noise it makes. still running a 186 with trimatic (which is not great for this size vehicle just didnt have the cash to upgrade at that point)  added a 350 holley which, in hind sight wasnt smart considering fuel consumption. but she hauls at low speeds around the city.

theres 2 x 100L water tanks under the bed too which im looking at removing one to reduce weight.
Im only looking at using it for short trips for weekends to 2 weekers  so 200L of water isnt really needed.

as for the lazy axle. I like the way it looks with 6 wheels, however shes a bog machine. gets stuck everywhere. ca only handle sealed roads or dry solid dirt. ive had it stuck on slightly sloped grass ha ha. and with the height. (highest point 3.0m) I have to plan routes to certain places like train bridges and shopping centers . but still its worth it.

Hi, my names damien, I picked up what I was told is a 1975 CF Deluxe motorhome from melbourne in 2009 and driove it home. she has since been through almost a complete rebuild.

Im not really sure what this vehicle is  and cant find anything on the net about it except that its a CF, Chassis/cab, 25cwt that some company somewhere has purchased and built a motorhome on the back . as far as the dual axles go ive never seen another one like it.
So if anyone has any other info on this id like to know where it originated.

It had the 'deluxe' badges above the front wheel arches . but cant find anythign about a bedford deluxe except one called a "DeLUXe" or something but its not the same.. and im not sure if this is even a 1975 model ?
anyhow.

me and a mate rebuild the bulk of the vehicle as I was intending on living in it and traveling the country.
I also added a 200watt solar panel on the roof with a new waeco fridge and all LED and some fluro lighting.
Replace rear lights with truck LED panels , and even has air horns and a PA system that allows me to pump out mr whippy van music or anything else through an mp3 player etc. ha ha.

shes been unregistered for a few months now as my travel plans changed and has a few little issues going on so, Im about to start modding her even further, just added a king size bed in the back and maybe even replacing the holden 186, with a moden diesel engine of some kind. but thats why im on here to learn more about the CF and see what other people have don to beef theirs up too. Cheers

Ive just added images to the gallery of what she looked like as off 2009/2010 new years break.
