Hi everyone I am lining my roof and want make a ply roof consule.

Question is how do I mount and or fit this to the roof above windscreen please?

have a look on Vanz Unlimited New Zealands face book page, on of the guys on there has been building an overhead console for a LWB that slots in and is held up by the inner gutter on the outer edges

cheers

a few of J1 me and a mate are rebuilding that has a 253 in it. My Mate is a truck guy and cos i'm a bedford guy he has got me involved in the build. it has some thick wall square tube welded to the front cross member running back to another cross member that the 253 mounts too. Fully legal here in NZ, not sure if it would be legal in Australia with the different engineering laws

Hi there

in NZ we have an Australian company selling new boosters on trademe - Protex. been looking at getting one myself if i cant get mine recon'd. Mo doubt you will be able to get one from a local one over there.

here is the link:

hey there Dustydmz,

great to see another kiwi on here, where abouts in NZ are you?? welcome to the world of bedfords. the answer to your question is no it wont bolt up to the cf 4cyl cross-member, what you need to find is a Holden six cross-member and drop out the old one n roll under the new. that way you can set up the Holden 161 and trimatic so its all ready to go. unbolt the old cross-member jack up the van at the front -easiest and most straight forward way to do it, roll out the 2.4 and gearbox and roll under the 161, drop it down n bolt it up. easy done - you'll be surprised how easy the conversion is just to go to a Holden six - its probably one of the easiest conversions to do to a cf bedford

hope that helps or just want to yarn bedfords make sure you check out the nz pages on facebook if you havent already

hey Frank,
definitely a place to check out and read the brochures on the various beddies released is here http://www.bedford-cf.co.uk/brochure.htm yes they are they UK brochures but alot of it still applies as with Vauxhall being the parent company

From what I know from old timers some where brought in to NZ as already pressed parts and assembled at the GMNZ plant and later on depending on what it was some were assembled and others imported ie like my CF2 ambulance, was brought in as a cowl/chassis/front doors and then the fiberglass body was put on here in NZ

Wanted / Re: 1988 bedford CF2 Ambulance
« on: April 11, 2017, 10:10:30 PM »
having a 86 CF2 ambulance myself and having issues with the leaks too over the years, definitely pay to check the the old ambulance roof sign, they have a common issue of being poorly sealed and leaking which builds water up inside the front roof lip/gutter causing a few rust issues in future
