Wanted / Interested in buying a van« on: May 20, 2011, 12:19:01 AM »
Hi guys,
I'm interested in buying a van to restore. Anything considered, even something you might consider a dump. I need to get a hobby and I'm looking for a real cheap van. Prefer a LWB but still love the SWB. I'm in Melbourne so anything in Vic, not interstate, sorry guys. Do not care on the size of the engine or whether its manual or auto. Prefer something with minimum rust but I know its hard with older cars and the cheaper it is the more I expect. And the cheaper it is the more I'm tempted Will even consider a trade for my XR6 ute, if your willing to spend money haha. Send me an email, with pics of your van and details and I will get back to you. Nick.Berenyi@ live.com.au 5

Hi,
Is the van up on EBay yet? I have two dirt bikes unfortunately neither rec reg'd. One an Atomik XR250 one of the best bikes for beginners. Needs a little fixing up, which I was planning on fixing for some of my mates to ride. It is an 09 model. Cheap to fix and very, very reliable. Always wanted to keep the bike as a spare. But I also have a 2003 Honda CRF 450 R which would cost about $800 to get rec reg'd. Just had a new clutch put in and I change the oil filter, air filter after every second ride. Not keen on getting rid of that yet but depends on your van to what I do. Do you have pics of the van? Cheers, Nick 6
Maintenance / Re: Auto to Manual??« on: July 10, 2010, 09:12:22 PM »
I knew someone would say that
After my P's I can drive manual anyway but I still prefer Auto. I can drive manual but I like Auto simple as that. Thanks for the help so far. 7
Maintenance / Auto to Manual??« on: July 10, 2010, 07:26:49 PM »
Hi guys,
I've been looking at buying a van for ages now and I think I might have found one! The only problem is I only have my auto licence and the van is a manual. Does anyone know the average cost of changing a 202 manual to auto? I've been trying to get in contact with JB Auto in Dandenong, Victoria for a quote but can't get in contact with him (Joe). The van itself is well within my budget just need to know if I can afford it all. Any help? or contacts in Victoria? Nick 8

Hey mate,
Thanks for the links. I've been and looked at the 1979 Black LWB Van and I got it professionally inspected. The guy said its needs an Engineering Certificate. I've been told it could be thousands to get one. Does any one know ways to get it cheaply? Otherwise I'm still going to be looking and looking for awhile unless I get more cash up, which I doubt. I still need help with this Nick 9

I've been told I should go for something complete as it is my first van and I am young.
So at the moment IU'm looking for vans that are easy and cheap to get on the road. Thanks though. 10
