Sorry all, I've been tied up with other things. I'll try and get back onto the Aus version of the VIN readed ASAP

Those downloads are great. Looks like I can't combine UK and Aus VIN details in one prog as the same number means different things. For example in the UK  97770 would give you
3200 mm (126 inch) wheelbase, 3375 kg (3.32 ton) GVW, 2279cc (139cu in.) Vauxhall OHC petrol engine, 9/47 axle ratio
In Aus it's the same wheelbase van but with 2840cc engine, 5.22:1 axle

Looks like it'll have to be two separate programmes. Do you lot think it's worth me doing it and if I do would you want to host it?

And the plates in NZ are different again
Don't you just love standardisation  :-\
I don't suppose you have any pictures of the NZ plates?

It looks like there must be quite a difference in the UK / Australian VIN system. As you say the 97370 is the Model/body type. 97 being the code for the CF and the 370 the body type. It's strange to me that the VIN and the body number are different. UK used one number for both. I'm wondering if the difference with Sammys G & H could be when the parts were pressed (UK?) and then assembled (Aus?)

Both of your CFs are coming up as :-
2692 mm (106 inch) wheelbase, 2500 kg (2.46 ton) GVW, 2279cc (139cu in.) Vauxhall OHC petrol engine, 8/37 axle ratio
Obviously the engine is wrong and looking at the plates, so is the weight (extra weight of Holden engine/gearbox?). Are they both 106" / 2692mm vans?

Thanks for the photos. I'm a bit confused that you have more than one ID number. 97370 GH 617349, 97370 HJ 617349 (both chassis number 617349) and 97370 85615 ?? The G & J should be two different years '77 & '78 but shouldn't be different. But why has the other plate got 97370 856165 on it?

I've written a small program to try and work out the model and options by the data on the VIN and SPI plates on the CF. So far I've only been working with the UK data ( https://cf-uk.co.uk/vin/vin.php ) but I want to expand it. I'm after any info on the Aus VIN and SPI plates. For example, on the UK SPI plate, after the serial number we have DOM xxxxxx for 'Domestic' market. What have your plates got? I'm also trying to find out if your first section of the serial numbers correspond with similar UK regarding the chassis/body type. If any of you have info on the Australian CF VIN system I would love to see it  :D

Hi all. One or two of you may remember me. The name is Colin and I run CF-UK https://www.cf-uk.co.uk the UK Bedford CF owners club. It's been a loooong time since I had a look at what life is like for all the CFs being driven upside down  :D  so I thought I would pop in and have a look around.
