Exteriors and Interiors / Rust repair/paint Brisbane area
« on: September 25, 2017, 08:36:02 PM »
Hi All,
Can anyone recommend a decent person/business to do rust/panel beating/paint that's not going to send me completely broke?
Cheers,
Sam.

Cheers Wendy and Ray,
I'm gonna polish the wheels tomorrow morning and take a whole bunch of photos and create a gallery on my profile. :)

Hi All!!!!
My name is Sam and I'm a fresh Beddy owner.  Our journey has been a little rocky so far but it's starting to look up...

My wife and I flew to Sydney from Brisbane having committed to buying a big yellow LWB over the phone....(we were keen, and didn't want to miss out)
We thought we'd take the previous owner by his word that it was in good condition and that we'd not have any problems driving back to Brissy.....hmmm
Anyway, we bought it and it blew up around the hills of Gosford!!!!! So, we towed her to NRMA motoserve in Gosford and then went straight to the pub.
After swapping the engine for a reco 202 along with radiator etc I flew back down to Gosford a couple of weeks later and drove the Beddy back to Brissy.  It was a pretty stressful drive as the car wasn't handling well and was on the wrong side of 95 degrees.  I stopped in at Taree bunnings and bought a drill, I drilled some holes in the front skirt and moved the number plate lower to get some airflow (thanks to facebook beddy pages).  That made a few degrees difference and meant that I could spend more time looking out through the windscreen instead of the temp gauge constantly.....
We've since redone the suspension front and back and new steering.  So, we finally have QLD plates and are starting to feel like the Beddy is ours to enjoy.
I'm pretty sure the carby needs a mighty clean and the timing needs looking at and of course the usual cooling modifications need to be made.
Our dream is to convert the LWB to a tilt top camper (not even sure if it's possible) and cruise up and down the coast line with our dog.
Just have to cut out rust, beat panels, paint, possibly new highway diff, overhaul the traumatic, convert to camper......you know just small stuff ;)
Happy to be a member of the BUGA community and looking forward to meeting more experienced Beddy owners.
Cheers,
Sam and Carly
