Hi all  I'm on here to say goodbye to you all. Heading overseas to a new life soon. I've sold my CF motorhome to Chris up at Dubbo. He's a good man. See you look after him. Thanks to you all for your advice and interesting reads over the time I've been on this forum. Over the years I have had many Bedfords. My first was as a young fella contracting to Brambles with an 8 ton TK, then later I developed a taste for J1's. Must have had 3 of those. My favorite was a split windscreen 1949 7 ton tipper I used as a farm truck. The attached picture was taken after a weekend with an angle grinder and a welder on the same farm. That was in Kiwi back in the 90's. Back in 1979 I used to deliver trucks for TNT around NSW. I delivered many brand new CF vans up to the Newcastle dealership. I've always liked bedfords. A bit agricultural but always predictable. May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face Stevo

Hi all I have a FREE 6 stud dually diff if anybody wants it.
I replaced mine with a 9" ford.
My CF1 is a CF350. I think the ratio is 4.11.
Also four steel 6 stud wheels for $100.
Can deliver to Syd for the gas money.

Its not that I mind the power steering effect of a heavy motorhome body on the back of the CF-350. But I'd like to even up the heavy assed profile a bit. I was thinking of fabricating longer rear spring hangers or airbags on top of the rear springs. But surely that would just raise the front the same height because the weight distribution is still the same? All ideas appreciated. Looks like it needs a 3" lift. How would one go about this?

Thanks for the info guys. I had my 14" wheels all sandblasted and painted the same green as cab.
Then threw the whole idea out the window and decided to go with Iveco daily 16" wheels on the back (yes they fit the bedford 6 stud PCD) and stay with the 14's on the front.
With 3.5 ton on the back, the 16"s will even up the van since it sits down in the back.
Should help road speed to. I'll let you know how it works out.

Yeah thanks LS120 will probably go the 185 radials. That was my concern the tyres rubbing. I should be able to get the radial width from the tyre place, plus say 50mm for the 3.5 ton load. Then measure the width of dual wheels up together. The only misgiving I have is the 650-14 cross plys are probably taller thereby increasing road speed. Maybe there isn't that much in the height between them.

The wheels have been sand blasted and painted, and now for the tyres.... The old rags were 650-14" cross ply's with smaller profile radials up front. I'd like to know what is the tallest/biggest tyre I can fit on the 6 inch rims (dual rears). 6.50-14 is equivalent to a 175-14. Very hard to get in a light truck radial. I was thinking of getting some mud tyres for the rears or cross ply's all around, but is seems Otani are the only manufacturer that makes a 6.50-14 cross ply. The Millard Star Craft is about 3.5 tons on a good day. I'd rather go radials, but might have to stick with the Otani cross ply's. It drove quite well with the old tyres but I think it's illegal to have cross ply's and radials on the same vehicle. Can probably go 185-14 or 195-14 but I'm not sure. Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

You can buy new reservoirs from Rimmers in the UK. A new lockheed 7/8s Master and reservoir is $200 plus freight or a twr one is $143 plus freight also from Rimmers.

Good luck with that Dale. I've had my one in getting recoed, Resleived etc. My CF1 76 is a CF350 with the reservoir that is bolted down with 4 bolts. Its a 3/4". The Brake place is having a second go at it after I couldn't bleed the fronts up in the vice... The piston is a two piece affair and there is a tiny pin that holds them together. Apparently the brake dude used to bigger pin and it caused the piston to stick in.
These were available for a very limited time in the UK as I understand.
After a bit of googling I noticed the Triumph Stagg, 2500pi, TC2000 that came out with a 7/8" master looks identical apart from the diameter. So if this guy can't fix it I think I'll take a look at the Triumph option.
