I've heard the XA falcon dash are quite a good fit, think that includes the XB and XC
Would anyone be kind enough to confirm this? I would like to use a Ford xc dash or landau/LTD dash. Would prefer not to hunt one down and buy it if it's no good for the Bedford CFS Cheers

My van has been converted to ford with a donor sub frame and the engine move back a bit. So now it's set-up to forever have a Ford motor. Cool because it's a clevo but I wish I got it with a 308 so I'd have some basic knowledge on it.
My problem is getting someone to identify what the sub frame is(I've got no idea)and then trying to get the van registered later...

That link looks good, but does that metal part with the flap mean you have to cut and weld that to the outside?
I've got this issue too where I'm starting with a round hole in my drivers side and nothing else. I've seen a few nice looking fuel caps online, but normally they don't come with the internal inside flange to position behind the cap

Haha batmobile entry style u reckon Makes me wonder if my seats are in the same position as normal. They are ford xb seats in a custom frame due to the engine being positioned back a little Another trip to the wreckers to do some measurements I think

Hi shagin,
Sounds right about the collapse part.
My column is half way through a custom conversion from the previous owner. At the moment it's a steel lance set-up on the impale angle. This is on a parallel, flat to chest sport configuration apparently.
From my view it doesn't seem very safe and probably not passable to get rego. I noticed someone else here also had trouble if they weren't using a collapsible column due to their engine upgrade. Mine is also a v8 conversion
Cheers Brenton

Hi all,
This is just a refresh on Dano's original post that's aged a bit now.
I am looking for a collapsible steering column that is minimal in size, something quality that's clean and thin like the classic ratrod type from ididit or flaming river products. Has anyone used any of these on their machine?
I am aware of the cheap import plastic bush tilt columns that break as a side note.
Also I don't know of donor car columns that aren't quite large but I'm open to suggestions.
Cheers Brenton

cheers for the replies all marty- interesting to see you have one of these already. I'll be keen to know if this engine is what I think it is, weekend is the time for some more pics. Dano- unfortunately I didn't get to keep the simmons mags, they wanted to sell them at a pretty high price. They were something crazy like 40-50cm wide. I dread to wonder at the tyre prices let alone trying to get that kind of offset registered after going over the pits, they stuck out as far the guard flares on the rear... wendy/ray - cheers, I think the restoration time was meant to be a slow mission with no corners cut, which has now become my project

gday John,
Cleveland 2V geelong version as far as I'm aware at this stage, im still learning but i'll tag photos with some questions I'm going to post soon. I've got a feeling some of my design issues are going to be solved more through creativity and suggestions from buga members.
