Had this exact problem. Bashed away for a while with no joy. Tried soaking in WD40. Wanted to turn the pin instead of hitting it but very hard to hold the head of the pin that only has 2 flats on it. Lateral thinking ... put the head of the pin in the vice and turn the crossmember back and forth. Eventually loosened enough to remove with simple tapping.

Hi all, have been a Beddy owner since late 70's. My 4WD project has been mothballed for some time and has now been pushed further back by another van that needs to be painted and reassembled. Pics will follow as project progresses. Will be coming to the Nats on Sunday and look forward to meeting a some of you.
