G'day
I was in Dick Smith yesterday and they had their 300w inverter on special for $49.76 SAVE $38.00 (normally $87.76)
At that price I bought 2!
I have fitted them into vans before as a handy little source of 240v. If you are going to instal one, make sure it is near the battery so that the 12v leads are short.

if you need pure signwave you can use an old UPS (420w) and can pick them up cheap. only thing is to remove the buzzer off the board.
that is what i use to run the pc in my campa as the modified give a humm through the speakers..

arent inverters brilliant chris!!!!
i have a 1000w rms inverter in my van i paid $150 for back in the day.. i use it to run he angle grinder on the side of the road if i need something done.. like trimming fibreglass parts before the nats lol..
i have a truck battery i use and i can runt he angle grinder for 2 hours before the battery gets a bit too low to runt he angle grinder.. but i can still kick over the van after that.
