Title: Tee Shirts
Post by: hammers_spanners on March 30, 2009, 03:22:50 PM
Gday all with the Nats nearly here and no T Shirts yet I have decided to organize them. I will use the logos as below on "BLACK" shirts with red panels under the arms.

Sizes from S to 5XL - need another size then let me know

Cost @ $30 plus post $5 regular satchel $10 express

Orders close this Friday 3/4/09 and the money must be paid by the following Wed 8/4/09 bank deposit, cheque, money order or cash

I make no guarantee that the shirts will be ready for the Nats but I will do my utmost to get them.

Gday All

There is a change to the Tee Shirts. I had a test done on a black shirt and it looked crap!! as the van had to be outlined to show the black items -wheels etc.

I've gone with Grey shirts to get the contrast right. If you have placed an order and want to change it no probs just let me know.

Just an update on the Tees. The bloke will be working till they are all done for us. He has all but the largest sizes as they wont be available till after Easter (buga) from the supplier. All others will be posted out or be available for pick up at the Nats from Ben at his stall.

Cheers

As we now have the artwork for the tee's I will do a monthly order, depending on numbers of course.

Print colors and tee color, styles can be changed

Have a look at this site for color and styles.

I'm with Ben, ya gotta talk to owners and enthusiasts by being either a really overly pleasant person or a pain in the behind and pursue what you want to know, from my experience van owners and enthusiasts are only too happy to share information but ya gotta get at them, youll find in the main that once you've struck up a conversation the info will come  ;)

Then Eddy how come when i asked you a question after being pointed in your direction by Ben, ya shot me down? I only wanted to suss out wethere side pipes are legal, and Ben said you would know.

Did anyone else know that apparantly bubble windows are illegal??? holy crap...im screwed (akmed the dead terrorist quote) now i dont know wethere to put a glass window in and then out and then bubble, or take the punt that he doesnt care:(?

Post by: eddy on April 16, 2009, 05:51:25 PM
ha ha ha sorry Kirk my brother, didn't mean to come across that way, of course in my line of work 'shot me down' means something else, I personally can't offer advice on whats legal and whats not as i shouldn't be put in that position and please undertand that when I am placed in that position the defence mechanism kicks in and I hi tail it outta there so certainly nothing personal, like you I do the best I can with what I have and I have no knowledge on the side pipes, if I knew I would tell you ..... I envy your keeness and certainly didn't intend to offend  ;D be cool my brother ... Eddy
Title: Re: Tee Shirts

Hi Kirk,

To the best of my knowledge - Side pipes are illegal on the passenger side only (go figure) its interesting that if you look at Vantastic he has really cool side pipes but they are dummies - check out under the back bumper! - personally, i'd do whatever legal crap i had to then convert to both pipes working, you'd have to be pretty stiff to get caught i reckon - on the bubble window front - i've never heard that they are illegal and i have had quite a few vans (not cf's) with these and never had a problem - put it this way, put the bubbles in, if it doesn't pass a roadie you've got 28 days to change them - get a roadie - them change em back.
i have never - ever heard of anyone getting a canary for bubble windows.

My two cents worth - hope it helps.

over here in NZ, it's not the bubbles but what they are usually made of - perspex, as they do not shatter

to argue it on a custom van, you just say it's a goods van, not a passenger van

Cheers for that....It apparantly has something to do with the stamp, i have a glass window (unsure if its stamped, never took out of bubble wrap) and will get new rubber seals all round, but dont wanna wreck them by taking in and out.

Yeah i wasnt too sure with the side pipes, some people have said 1/ ok if the end is behind the window or the door (mines windowless) OR 2/ if they are covered they are ok. Mine i think is stock and it exits 1 side just in front of rear wheel arch, dont think it protrudes tho.

hey Guys, I spoke to my guy here as we were looking at side pipes for our van and he has told me that they are legal on the side as long as they are more than a certain distance from an opening door or window
cant remember if it was 300mm or 400mm or something like that
but yes they can be used as long as you comply with the requirements

geez boyz just hold up a minute !!!! don't shoot the messenger !!!! I witnessed that mess regarding the fibreglass kits in NZ and the divisions that it caused .... I know Ben spent a considerable amount of money out of his own pocket to make things right, as a group did we not learn from that?

It seems to me that getting mad at Ben is not appropriate given that he is trying to help everyone, he is under no obligation what so ever to appease any persons that use this site. Ben stop paying hard earned cash out of your own pocket to make things right on behalf of other people. You should be congratulated for your obvious passion with everything Bedford BUT STOP PAYING OUT OF YOUR OWN POCKET !!!!!

Dear beddie family, now that I have done something that I am strictly opposed to ... putting my opinion in a public forum, can I respectfully and sincerley add that Craig gave a recent explanation for the delay, and in so doing he opened to the world his very very private life, he took the steps of trying to put right what others view as mistrust or selfishness by explaining his very personal family situation, that in itself is a brave move if not a disempowering action by anyone, it is no body's business but his own yet he gave what I believe a reasonable explanation, we all know that when tragedy enters our lives our focus moves and to me this is certainly the case with Hammers, have patience brothers we are not a corporation, as I see it we have a cross section of passionate beddites and in the main battlers .... be real to each other. Okay thats it from me, I have put myself up as a target and accept any criticism be it fair or not. However, always been a beddie man always will be. Take care of each other  Eddy

I spend about 40 minutes each day at the gym pushing some serious steel. That keeps my fat levels down. I'm hoping to be about 10-12% body fat soon.

hey jeff, got the cresta diff head & pinion out.. need a slide hammer as others have said. but taking the pinion out you need a gadget to hold the drive shaft flange to undo the locking nut holding it on. then theres the big bearing nut.. but a coal chissel & hammer will move it  if ya gental...

now the swap over.. (just soaking bearings & gears in degreaser to clean first.

Thanks David. I think a pipe wrench should hold the pinion flange if I can open it enough. :-\
Good luck with the repairs.  Starting mine in a week or two.

Ben, i LOVE your axle puller!

edit
I just realised that this post and the one before seem to be in the wrong thread.
I don't know how to move them to "What have you been up to" where they  belong.
