Title: Legality of your tyres
Post by: John Abbott on March 25, 2009, 09:32:16 PM
Pulled into a random breath testing roadblock the other evening in my Beddie, and after blowing zero the copper was about to let go when another older copper asked "are those tyres on your truck 8 ply?" I said your mean light truck tyres? He said yeah! So i said yeah pretty sure (knowing full well they werent) mmmm" i think you will find there not " but he let me go anyway.  >:( I would imagine that technically i would have breached my insurance policy because of the tyres and mags i have on it. So would it be the same for those of you with vans?   :-\
cheers...johnno ;D

you need to let the insurance company know about the extras thats why I use Shannons , I know what your thinking though about the light truck tires ,you have to consider the application of the wheel to the vehicle. If you got pulled up with maxim load on your truck you may have got a sticker. Had your truck not been as tidy as it is.

Discretion is mostly their choice, you gotta watch the young ones if they enforced those laws almost every f100 and similar vehicles would be in real trouble its really the difference between "yobbo work hack" and car enthusiast.(omg! I almost sound like an adult).

Yeah, there are heaps of 'illegal' vans and utes out there.
When i bought my van my mechanic wouldn't give me a roadworthy with the mags i had on it.
I replaced them with one ton ute rims and LT tires.
The old mags were rated at 500kg, and i have been known to load up the van.
